Paul Bunje

Biography

Paul Bunje is the co-founder and President of Conservation X Labs, a leading organization bringing innovation to global conservation threats. Conservation X Labs harnesses technology and entrepreneurship to protect biodiversity using a mix of open innovation, frontier technology development, and acceleration. Paul was formerly the Chief Scientist at the XPRIZE Foundation, where he led impact strategy across grand challenge domains. Dr. Bunje was the founding Executive Director of the UCLA Center for Climate Change Solutions and the Managing Director of the Los Angeles Regional Collaborative. Service includes WEF Global Agenda Council, Momental Foundation, Volans, and Ocean Visions. The American Association for the Advancement of Science selected Paul as one of 40 individuals that exemplify the thousands of Science and Technology Policy Fellows dedicated to applying science for society. Paul is trained in biology, from the University of Southern California and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
