Impact report
The IUCN World Conservation Congress 2025, held under the theme Powering Transformative Conservation, brought together over 10,000 participants across 7 days of momentous action for our planet. From the adoption of 144 resolutions by the Members' Assembly to the launch of IUCN's 20-year Strategic Vision "Unite for Nature on the Path to 2045," the Congress served as a defining moment for global biodiversity policy, uniting governments, civil society, Indigenous Peoples, scientists, youth and businesses around a urgent goals.
This impact report captures the scale, reach, and legacy of the world's largest environmental gathering, from the scientific updates and the announcements shared during the Congress to the hundreds of partnerships forged across its Exhibition halls, Forum sessions and Summits, offering a comprehensive account of how this essential and long-standing convening turned ambition into action.
A Congress with three components
9–12 October
The Forum is the largest knowledge marketplace for conservation and sustainable development science, practice and innovation. Through thematic sessions, the Forum addresses the economic, social, scientific and technical aspects of a broad range of nature conservation issues.
