Helga Katharina Mahler

Biography

Helga Katharina Mahler is a Project Director at GIZ, author, and humanitarian, working transdisciplinarily and transculturally to drive sustainable transformation. She co-coordinates the global PANORAMA initiative, advancing inclusive knowledge management and adaptive innovation for biodiversity, climate resilience, and social equity.

Her work is shaped by early experiences as a minority under an oppressive regime and grounded in academic studies in sociolinguistics, international relations, new English literatures and cultures, people-public-private partnerships, and development finance.

She focuses on solutions that grow from lived experience, foster collective learning, and support system resilience. Guided by inclusive leadership and creative collaboration, she works with communities and partners worldwide to weave responses that are just, innovative, and rooted in place.
