This session will explore how the UAE is leading the transition to a nature-positive economy by valuing ecosystems and their services. Through the UAE’s pioneering Natural Capital Project, we will demonstrate how nature-positive strategies can drive sustainable development, inspire global action, and empower future leaders.
Session Description
The UAE is at the forefront of integrating natural capital into economic decision-making. This session will showcase the UAE’s Natural Capital Project, which emphasizes the value of ecosystems in building a resilient, sustainable, and nature-positive economy. We will present the interactive platform, uaenaturalcapital.gov.ae, which provides real-time data on 15 key ecosystem services, from climate regulation to water quality. By valuing these ecosystem services, the UAE is setting a global example for other nations to follow. The session will foster collaborative discussions on the future of natural capital, its role in shaping sustainable development, and how it can be used to inform decision-making and policy at both national and global levels. Through this platform, we aim to inspire actionable change for a nature-positive future.Organised by
