Biography

Shaemma Rashed Mebwana is a passionate Marine Biodiversity Specialist and sustainability advocate, driven by a mission to bridge science, policy, diplomacy, and community action. With over four years at the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, she has led national initiatives on climate resilience, biodiversity protection, youth engagement, and global negotiations earning her the prestigious 1st Class Order of Zayed II for her contributions at COP28.
A graduate of Zayed University with a degree in Environmental Science and Sustainability, Shaemma brings a dynamic blend of research expertise, negotiation experience, and grassroots impact. An enthusiast turned professional, her journey reflects deep commitment, curiosity, and purpose. She has championed youth representation on global platforms, shaped international climate narratives, and delivered high-impact talks across major forums. She currently serves as Vice President of the MOCCAE Youth Council.
