Pablo Arturo LOPEZ GUIJOSA

Biography

Pablo Arturo LOPEZ GUIJOSA holds a Master of Environmental Management degree from the University of Queensland, Australia, a Biologist degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and exchange studies in biodiversity conservation from the University of Helsinki, Finland. His expertise is in international relations, specializing in communications, protected areas, and biodiversity conservation. He has worked with national and subnational governments, academia, the private sector, NGOs, and international organizations, including the Ramsar Convention Secretariat and UNEP. He has also served as Project Manager and Capacity Building for IUCN and Communications Specialist for the Mexican Government, IUCN ORMACC, and the Urban Biodiversity Hub. He supported the organization of the UN Biodiversity Conference — COP13 CBD in Cancun, Mexico, COP15 in Montreal, Canada, and COP16 in Cali, Colombia; the Ramsar COP13 in Dubai, UAE; and the BRS COPs in Geneva, Switzerland, as well as several international meetings in Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Peru. He has been a member of the World Commission on Protected Areas since 2015 and is passionate about photography and visiting World Heritage sites.
