Nugkui Teresa NONINGO MAURICIO

Biography

Nugkui is a biologist and member of the Wampís indigenous community, with experience in scientific research, socio-environmental project management, and intercultural environmental education. From a young age, she was involved in territorial defence processes alongside her father, an indigenous leader, which deeply marked her commitment to collective struggles. She currently represents the Autonomous Territorial Government of the Wampís Nation (GTANW) in national and international forums. She is training to educate young people in her community on issues of governance, rights, and climate justice. Her work combines science, ancestral memory, and community action.
