Laure MONTCHAMP

Biography

Laure Montchamp has been working at the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) since 2021, where she currently serves as Senior Grants Officer , Conservation Action within the Species Conservation Action (SCA) Team at IUCN Headquarters. She works on global grant-making programmes dedicated to the conservation of threatened species and currently manages a multi-million-dollar initiative for lemur conservation in Madagascar.

Prior to joining IUCN, Laure served as Project Officer with the French Development Agency (AFD) in Cambodia, where she oversaw a portfolio of regional environment and forestry projects across South-East Asia. She then joined the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB) in La Réunion as Project Coordinator, managing initiatives on seagrass and sea turtle conservation in the Glorieuses Marine Nature Park (Eparses Islands) and promoting regional cooperation in the Western Indian Ocean. She also worked as an independent consultant, conducting ex-post evaluations of conservation programmes and supporting fundraising and proposal development for environmental organisations.

With a background in International and European Relations and in Sustainable Development in Developing and Transitional Economies, Laure brings over a decade of experience in biodiversity conservation, natural resource management and international development cooperation.
