Biography
Joyce Mbataru is a communication for development specialist with over 15 years of experience in community-led conservation, gender, youth, and media development in Kenya. She serves as the Communication Manager at the Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association (KWCA), where she leads efforts to promote and amplify the Kenyan community conservation story. Passionate about written and visual storytelling, Joyce believes effective communication is key to strengthening conservation outcomes and elevating the voices of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs), including women and youth, in global conversations.
