Jasmin UPTON

Biography

Jasmin Upton works on the Protected Planet Initiative at UNEP-WCMC, working to consolidate information and knowledge on the worlds protected and conserved areas as well as tracking progress towards international environmental targets. Jasmin also leads UNEP-WCMC's work on territories and areas conserved by Indigenous Peoples and local communities and manages the ICCA Registry, working with national partners and ICCA custodians to collate data and promote the recognition of ICCAs in area-based conservation. Jasmin is an honorary member of the ICCA Consortium and a member of IUCN's World Commission on Protected Areas.
