Passionate about tourism and ocean conservation, Gloria Fluxà Thienemann combines a strategic vision for innovation with specialized leadership in sustainable transformation. As a fourth-generation member of her family business, Gloria continues the Iberostar legacy— a company driven by its core values and a strong commitment to its customers, the environment, its employees, and the communities it serves.
Gloria joined Iberostar Group in 2006 and, since 2018, has served as Vice Chairman and Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), leading the company’s sustainability strategy via its movement, Iberostar Wave of Change.
With a vision centered on positive tourism, she drives the integration of sustainability across all business areas, promoting responsible growth, environmental stewardship, and more resilient destinations.
Gloria's dedication and leadership earned her recognition as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in 2018. In 2023, she was appointed Vice Chair of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and Chair of its Sustainability Committee. And in 2023 she was recognized by TIME Climate as one of 100 global figures who are making significant impact towards climate action.
