Koffi Gautier AMOUSSOU, a Beninese national, is an agronomist with forestry background. Born in 1976, he is specialized in the development and management of natural resources and their valorization through community-based ecotourism.
He has been coordinating Benin Ecotourism Concern (ECO-BENIN: www.ecobenin.org) since 2005. He has led more than a hundred ecotourism projects at the national and international levels with the development of very active networks in responsible tourism and biodiversity conservation including protected areas creation and management. He is leading some carbon projects related to cookstoves promotion and mangroves restoration (Bouche du Roy blue carbon project).
He has also carried out more than a hundred consulting works concerning, among others, the elaboration of Ramsar site management plans, wildlife resource inventories, local development plans, destination management plans, ecotourism development, project evaluation, climate change projects management, marine protected areas surveillance and IUU fishing fighting, training on ecotourism development and climate mitigation, training in project elaboration and in human-wildlife conflict management.
Active member of IUCN, Gautier Amoussou is the Africa Coordinator of the International Social Tourism Organization (ISTO) and is a founding member of the Responsible Tourism Network of Benin.
