Bibhab Talukdar is a conservation biologist and involved in field research and applied conservation measures to secure rhinos in Asia. He is one of the founders of Aaranyak in 1989, a NGO based in India and currently the Secretary General & CEO of the organisation. He is currently the chair of the Asian Rhino Specialist Group of IUCN SSC. He is also a member of IUCN CEM, IUCN Climate Crisis Commission. In October 2024, he has received IUCN SSC Harry Messel Award for Conservation Leadership at Abu Dhabi for his remarkable species conservation specially in the conservation of three species of Asian Rhinos. He has served as a member of National Board of Wildlife, Government of India, and currently also a member of State Board of Wildlife, Government of Assam.
