Arthur BISPO

Biography

I am biologist who seeks to become involved in actions that promote nature conservation throughout his career. Specializing in ornithology and landscape ecology, he has developed research that seeks to understand how biodiversity interacts with the ever-changing world. During his training, he managed to carry out projects with expeditions in the Atlantic Forest, Araucaria Forest, and Seasonal Forest, and today he works most effectively in the Cerrado biome. During my postgraduate studies, I worked as a freelance environmental consultant and, together with other colleagues, founded the Neotropical Institute: Research and Conservation. In addition to my bachelor's degree, I also completed a teaching degree and currently teach Intercultural Education Goias Federal University, focusing on the training of Indigenous teachers. I believe that cultural diversity, knowledge, and personalities should be valued. In this program, I advise the Krikati and Xavante committees and previously advised the Kanela committee. My work on this program has provided ongoing learning about interculturality and its influence on knowledge formation. I also advise students from various programs within our research lines and in the Animal Biodiversity Graduate Program at UFG. Experience over the years has sparked my interest in developing my lines of research, always in an interdisciplinary way, but with influences from landscape and community ecology, conservation biology, ornithology, ethnobiology, community-based tourism, wildlife observation tourism, citizen science, and other studies with sociodiversity.
