Andrew COX

Biography

Andrew Cox is a strategic thinker, collaborator and problem solver. He has extensive experience leading in the environmental, invasive species and biosecurity disciplines, working with both government and non-government organisations.

As CEO of the Invasive Species Council (Australia), Andrew led national efforts to address the impacts of invasive species and brought people together as co-founder of the Australian Biosecurity Symposium. He was co-founder of the Decade of Biosecurity government-industry-community collaboration and the NGO 4nature. Andrew is a member of the IUCN Invasive Species Specialist Group.

Currently, he is collaborating to reduce the role of global trade and travel as a source of continental movements of invasive plants, animals and pathogens. His work aims to advance Target 6, the invasive species target of the 2030 Global Biodiversity Framework.
