Amely Martins

Biography

Amely Branquinho Martins holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) and a Master’s and Ph.D. in Biological Anthropology, with a focus on genetics and phylogenomics of recent groups, from the University of Texas at Austin. She is an Environmental Analyst at the National Center for Research and Conservation of Brazilian Primates (CPB), a specialized center of the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio). Her research focuses on Primate Genetics, Conservation Biology, Bioinformatics, and Molecular Biology. She coordinates the Brazilian assessment of the extinction risk of primates, anteaters, armadillos, and sloths, and serves as coordinator of the Brazilian Biodiversity Genomics Consortium (GBB) at ICMBio.
