Why attend

Discover how ecocentric law innovations, including legal rights and guardianship of nature, can safeguard and restore coral reefs.

Session Description

This event explores Earth-centered legal innovations to protect and restore coral reefs. A coalition of groups recently released "A Voice for Coral Reef Ecosystems Through the Rights of Nature and Ecocentric Law," a three-part toolkit that equips policymakers, advocates, and legal professionals with bold legal strategies to live in harmony with coral reefs. The session will introduce new approaches that give coral reefs a voice in the legal system and empower communities to defend them in court and policy. Participants are invited to join an interactive discussion on applying these strategies and overcoming challenges.
