Attendees will engage with leading institutions, initiatives and experts, explore current efforts, and discover pathways to shape high-integrity nature markets through co-creation and collective action.
Session Description
This session will foster collaboration, peer learning, and active dialogue, reflecting on and emphasizing the High Level Principles guiding biodiversity credit initiatives. We will explore progress in using biodiversity credits to finance restoration and conservation, exploring key themes such as:The design and implementation of biodiversity credit schemes
The critical role of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities, and ensuring legal and customary rights
The private sector’s engagement and responsibilities
Ensuring high-integrity principles, robust metrics, and transparent measurement
Understanding supply and demand dynamics in biodiversity credit markets
Contributions to global biodiversity targets
Using an interactive World Café format, participants will engage in small-group discussions to explore these topics in depth, encouraging diverse perspectives and actionable insights. Facilitators will include representatives from the Biodiversity Credits Alliance, International Environment Guardianship, Int’l Advisory Panel on Biodiversity Credits, WWF, Conservation International, IUCN, WBCSD, South Pole, and others.
