Why attend
How does a species get on the IUCN Red List? Discover how assessments shape the Red List as a Barometer of Life — and get a first look at the new SIS, a system designed to improve how we assess, manage, and scale up conservation for species worldwide.
Session Description
Join us for a short, dynamic session featuring a 20-minute presentation on how species are assessed and added to the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™. We’ll introduce the new Species Information System (SIS), currently under development. This next-generation platform is designed to streamline workflows, improve data quality, and support the growing demand for timely and accurate species assessments. Whether you’re new to the Red List or part of the global network contributing to it, this session will offer valuable insights into how the IUCN is modernising its tools to meet today’s conservation challenges.Organised by
