Session Description
This session will focus on training and capacity building for Protected Area (PA) management, with a special emphasis on the IUCN Green List. It will open with a presentation of the innovative consortium established in Italy, uniting government agencies, academia, and civil society organizations, and the Green List Mentors Training Programme they have designed. A panel of distinguished experts from the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas, IUCN National Committees, the Italian Federation of Protected Area Managers (Federparchi), and the IUCN Green List Programme will then discuss current training needs, opportunities, and synergies among institutions. The session will conclude with an interactive Q&A, inviting participants to share perspectives, provide feedback on the training programme, and highlight gaps in capacity. By bringing together diverse expertise and viewpoints, the session aims to advance effective, inclusive, and globally relevant approaches to building skills for PA management.Organised by
