Session Description

This session will mark the official launch of the Global Assessment of Dugong Status and Conservation Needs Report 2025—the most comprehensive review of dugong populations, threats, and conservation priorities since the last global assessment. Developed through the in-kind contributions of more than 70 international authors, the report synthesizes cutting-edge science, expert knowledge, and field data to guide urgent conservation action across the species’ range.
