Session Description
Youth engagement has long been a cornerstone of IUCN’s mission, bringing fresh perspectives, innovative approaches, and lasting energy to global conservation. This session takes a closer look at the IUCN Youth Strategy—its origins, evolution, and impact to date. Participants will reflect on key achievements and lessons learned, exploring how young professionals and youth networks have shaped conservation agendas and strengthened collaboration across regions. The session will also focus on the present: how the Strategy is being implemented, where progress is being made, and where challenges remain. Looking ahead, through the world cafe format, the session will open space for dialogue on the future of youth engagement within IUCN, identifying priorities, opportunities, and ways to ensure youth voices are meaningfully included in decision-making.
Join us to celebrate progress, critically assess the path so far, and co-create the way forward for youth leadership in conservation and sustainability.
