Join the COP17 Host Country team to learn about Mongolia’s preparations for the 17th Session of the UNCCD Conference of the Parties (COP17). The session presents key themes, initiatives, and opportunities for collaboration, followed by an informal networking lunch.
Session Description
This presentation and networking session introduces Mongolia’s role as the host of the 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). Participants will learn about the conference’s objectives, priority themes, and Mongolia’s three Initiatives currently in development and planned to launch in August. The event will highlight flagship initiatives such as the Rangelands Flagship Initiative, the Water–Land Nexus, and Nature-based Solutions for Infrastructure. Following the presentations, guests are invited to an informal lunch and coffee to meet members of the COP17 Preparatory Office and explore potential avenues for engagement ahead of the 2026 conference in Ulaanbaatar.
