Why attend

Hear case studies from zoos around the globe as we unpack collaborative approaches to nature based education and community conservation action

Session Description

Join us to explore how nature-based education can be a powerful tool for inspiring community conservation action. With case studies from zoos in the UAE, USA, Canada and the UK we'll explore how zoos are moving beyond their gates to inspire action in their communities using nature based education approaches, from citizen science and greening school grounds through to capacity building programmes for teens and group leaders. Following the case studies we'll be opening up the discussion to explore what we can collectively learn from these programmes. Participants will be invited to bring their own questions as we further explore how organisations like zoos, alongside their education and community partners, can play an active role in conservation in their community.
