Session Description
he GEF Fonseca Fellowship Experience spotlights a global community of over 180 young environmental professionals driving impact where it matters most. Designed with regional partners, the Fellowship tailors high-quality, practice-oriented training to local priorities—ensuring education for sustainability is adaptive, relevant, and transformative. This session elevates fellows’ voices from Latin America & the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific, sharing lessons on science-to-policy translation, community engagement, and scalable climate and nature solutions. Participants will gain insights into what works to empower youth leadership, build institutions, and catalyze action on pressing environmental challenges. The event invites organizations, funders, and decision-makers to deepen support for youth in environmental science, policy, and action—through mentorships, placements, and investment pathways—so their innovations can scale and endure.
