Why attend

Discover how turning your marine fun into "eco-entertainment" can directly protect coral reefs and secure a more profitable and sustainable marine economy for everyone, from boat owners to jet ski enthusiasts.

Session Description

This proposal for the #ForCoral Pavilion, "Eco Tourism & Eco Entertainment for the Protection of Natural Coral Reefs and Nurseries," directly addresses scaling up resilient conservation and transitioning to nature-positive economies. Presented by the Ocean Attitude initiative (a boat captain/environmentalist) and a PADI diver/marine imagery specialist, we demonstrate how responsible tourism and recreation—termed "eco-entertainment"—can be a powerful economic driver for conservation. The 35-minute session uses practical tips for all boat owners, scuba divers , watercraft users (including jet ski fans), showcases the economic value of healthy reefs, and features a compelling 15-minute video. The goal is to provide a broad audience with actionable tips, proving that a thriving marine environment is the foundation for a thriving marine economy. We aim to build a resilient, nature-positive community by engaging diverse sectors in conservation leadership.
