Session Description

This session explores how nature-based solutions (NbS) can simultaneously advance climate and biodiversity goals while creating quality jobs that are safe, fair, and inclusive. Ensuring that NbS deliver social as well as ecological benefits requires investment in skills, training, and protections that enable workers and communities to thrive. Speakers will share perspectives from policy, education, practice, and local communities, highlighting opportunities for women, youth, and marginalized groups to benefit from NbS employment. Participants will engage in interactive exercises—live polls, word clouds, and audience-driven Q&A—to reflect on what “decent work in NbS” means in practice and how to embed it at scale. By aligning environmental and social objectives, NbS can become a transformative driver for sustainable development. The session closes with key insights and invites participants to continue the conversation during dedicated networking time with panelists and peers.
