Why attend

Join global leaders and practitioners to celebrate the launch of NbS Regional Hubs. The event will highlight the role of regional hubs as platforms for scaling up NbS globally and acknowledge the leadership and support of partners and donors, particularly the Government of Germany.

Session Description

Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are vital for tackling climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainable development challenges. To enhance their impact, IUCN has established Regional NbS Hubs to connect science, policy, and practice, supporting the scaling up of credible NbS aligned with national priorities and global commitments under the Rio Conventions. With support from the German Government (BMUV/BMUKN), IUCN launched the first Hubs in 2024: the Asia NbS Hub in collaboration with China’s Ministry of Natural Resources, followed by the Europe Hub, with preparations underway for Africa and Latin America & Caribbean. These Hubs provide technical support, strengthen partnerships across sectors, and promote the integration of NbS into strategies that build resilience, restore ecosystems, and deliver lasting benefits for both people and nature.
