Session Description

This side event will bring together speakers from Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, DRC, and Congo to explore the current state of OECMs in Central and Western Africa. It will address challenges in identifying, reporting, monitoring and strengthening OECMs. Through a dialogue driven format, participants will discuss the barriers hindering effective implementation, reflect on the ongoing processes, and explore opportunities to enhance these efforts. The session will provide a platform for cross-regional knowledge exchange and networking, aiming to improve the process of identifying and reporting OECM and build stronger national platforms for implementation.
