Biography

I am Aibat Muzbay, a biodiversity and sustainable use expert with more than six years of experience in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Currently, I lead the environmental NGO Tabigi Orta and coordinate international projects with partners such as NABU, OSCE, and GIZ, focusing on the conservation of saiga antelope, wild sheep, and steppe ecosystems. I hold an MSc in Landscape Ecology and Nature Conservation from the University of Greifswald, Germany, and I am a recipient of several international awards, including the Saiga Conservation Leader Award (COP14 CMS). Throughout my career, I have been engaged in developing conservation strategies, wildlife monitoring, and providing policy recommendations on biodiversity, as well as representing Kazakhstan in international biodiversity forums and conferences.
