Biography
Jonathan Ledgard leads Interspecies Money, a concept he invented to enable nonhuman life to participate in the market economy. A longtime foreign and war correspondent for The Economist and a critically acclaimed novelist, he also led pioneering technology initiatives at EPFL, including drone delivery of blood and medicines in Africa.

Tehanu is the first prototype for interspecies money, enabling nonhuman species to hold and direct capital through digital identity, AI-inferred interests, task verification and payment execution. Based in Africa with global ambition, it is building the digital public infrastructure for a planetary economy that is responsive to the needs of other species.
