Rosa Elena LICUY VARGAS

Biography

My name is Rosa Elena Licuy Vargas. I was born on August 1, 1996, in the community of Rey del Oriente. I am 29 years old and trained as a nursing technologist. I am currently studying for a degree in Basic Education and am in the process of training to become a teacher. I am halfway through my studies, strengthening my pedagogical knowledge so that I can continue contributing to the education of children from a community-based, bilingual, and participatory perspective.
I am a member of the PONAKISCS organization, where I collaborate in processes of territorial strengthening, community health, and collective rights. In addition, I serve as president of the Piatúa Resiste collective, where I lead actions to protect the Piatúa River, a source of life, spirituality, and ancestral memory for our Kichwa people.
