Why attend

This session will outline the state of mangrove ecosystems from around the world, and highlight transformative tools and approaches to drive collective impacts towards global, regional and national goals.

Session Description

With just five years left to meet the Mangrove Breakthrough 2030 goal of protecting and restoring 15 million hectares of mangroves, the time for scaling up collective action and finance is now. Mangroves support the resilience of millions of people, coastal economies, and critical biodiversity. Yet they are disappearing at alarming rates. This session brings together diverse change makers to share transformative stories of collaboration. From the Global Mangrove Alliance and Save Our Mangroves Now to national initiatives in Kenya, Mozambique, Panama and Asia, we’ll spotlight tools, partnerships, and finance mechanisms that are scaling mangrove protection and restoration. Implementation is now!
