Why attend

Youth remain underfunded. A research project by GYBN, Synchronicity Earth, and the Iris Project is aiming to shed a light on how this can change. Learn how new data and youth-funder dialogues are reimagining support to youth, building trust, and creating youth-led strategies to move both money and power.

Session Description

Despite growing recognition of youth leadership in biodiversity and ecological justice, little funding reaches youth-led initiatives. Too often, support is paternalistic, piecemeal, and low-trust. In response, the Synchronicity Earth, GYBN, and the Iris Project launched a collaborative effort to analyze these gaps and reimagine the funding landscape. Our work has moved beyond simply measuring funding flows to asking deeper questions: What counts as expertise? How do we move beyond “sharing” into “thinking and delivering” together? What does it take to not just mobilize funds, but mobilize funders? Through research, new data, and youth-funder dialogues, we are building collective strategies that challenge scarcity, center relationships, and create pathways for youth and funders to shift both money and power collectively.
