Antonieta COSTA

Antonieta Costa – PhD in Education. Assistant Professor at Lisbon University for 15 years in the pedagogy area. Director of Conservation Education at Lisbon Zoo since 2007 – defines, develops and monitors the formal (75.000 students/year) and informal Education (800.000 visitors/year) and leads the educational training plan. She’s also leads the consolidation of institutional relations with the Portuguese Ministry of Education, establishes and manages institutional partnerships, both national and international, for increasing educational policies and for creating innovative learning scenarios.

Antonieta is an active member within EAZA and IZE. Chair of the EAZA Conservation Education Committee since 2021 and Vice-Chair between 2012-2021. IZE Europe/ Middle East Regional Representative (2019-2023).
