Biography
Fanourios-Nikolaos (Fanikos) Sakellarakis is an environmental scientist specializing in ecosystem management and biodiversity conservation, with more than a decade of professional experience in habitat mapping, vegetation ecology, wetland management, and plant species conservation. Since 2024, he has served as Freshwater Programme Manager and a member of the Leadership Team at MedINA, where he leads a multidisciplinary team of five. His work bridges applied conservation and scientific research, transboundary cooperation and policy development, as well as the advancement of Nature-based Solutions for sustainable ecosystem management.
