President of the board of the Institute for Nature Conservation in Albania since 2015 and a senior expert on protected areas and natural resource management.
I hold a PHD in ecological forest management from the Agriculture University of Tirana and have more than 25 years of experience working in projects related to protected areas and natural resource management in general.
As Director of Protected Areas Management department under the Directorate General of Forests and Pastures, I played a key role in the enlargement of the protected area system in Albania by supporting the establishment and enlargement of several protected areas in the country.
At INCA I have been directly involved and provided guidance and precious expertise in many projects related to protected areas biodiversity assessment, participatory management plans development, capacity building, management effectiveness assessment, etc. As a leader of INCA my key challenge is to ensure secure funding for the continuation of conservation activities while keeping an independent profile of the organisation. Happily married and father of two, I like travelling to new places and reading/learning about the history. I enjoy being around with friends, better if with a glass of wine and nice music.
