Mr Jinlei Feng is Programme Officer, Policy Advice in the Knowledge, Policy and Finance Centre (KPFC) of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), based in Abu Dhabi. His research work at IRENA is focused on policies for the deployment of renewable energy in end-use sectors, cities, and sustainable bioenergy. He leads IRENA’s workstream related to the environmental impacts and benefits of renewables, as well as circular economy for the energy transition. Over the last seven years, he has authored and co-authored more than a dozen reports.
Prior to joining IRENA in March 2018, Jinlei served as a Programme Manager at WWF based in China, leading the climate and energy programme and low-carbon cities initiative. Previously, he worked at a China-based foundation and managed a portfolio on sustainable cities. He has more than 17 years of experience in renewable energy, climate change, and sustainable development. He holds a master’s degree in management from Renmin University of China.
