Joel REYNOLDS

Biography

Since 1980, Mr. Reynolds has specialized in environmental litigation and advocacy in the United States, including, since 1990, as Senior Attorney, Western Director, and Senior Strategist with the Natural Resources Defense Council ("NRDC").  He has directed several of NRDC's major campaigns defending globally significant biodiversity from industrialization or other harmful activities or development. In support of regional coalition partners, two current campaigns include protecting (1) the world's most productive wild salmon fishery in Bristol Bay, Alaska from the proposed Pebble Mine and (2) the "Aquarium of the World" in the Gulf of California from proposed development for LNG by Mexico Pacific Ltd. and other fossil fuel companies. He graduated from Columbia Law School in 1978 and has twice been selected California Lawyer of the Year in the environmental category.
