Marie-Audrey Nadeau Fortin

Biography

Marie-Audrey is a Biodiversity Analyst at Nature Québec. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological and Ecological Sciences (Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières) and a Master’s degree in Wildlife and Habitat Management (Université du Québec à Rimouski). Her master’s project focused on the impacts of ecosystem-based forest management on the Gaspésie caribou and its habitat. After working on various research projects and with the Government of Canada, she joined the team at Nature Québec in 2021. Since then, she has been developing expertise in biodiversity conservation in the Quebec context, particularly in relation to threatened species protection, the creation of protected areas, the recognition of other effective area-based conservation measures, and the implementation of nature-based solutions for climate.
