Angel Marcos brings over 20 years of experience in international cooperation initiatives for development in Central America. He holds a master's degree in Geography and Spatial Planning from the University of Extremadura (UEX) in Spain, with a certification as a specialist in local development (UEX), and has additional training in climate change and food security.
Before joining IUCN, Angel worked at the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) for 16 years, where he held important roles such as risk management officer within the framework of AECID's Regional Program for Central America, and as the Deputy Coordinator of the Spanish Cooperation Office in El Salvador. Later, in March 2018, he took on the coordination and management of emergency response and migration projects in Central America at Oxfam.
