Elsburgh 'Tres' CLARKE

Biography

Dr. Elsburgh “Tres” Octavius Clarke III is the Director of Animal Health and Welfare at SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and a diplomat of the American College of Zoological Medicine. He earned his veterinary degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine St. Kitts, West Indies. He completed his fourth year at University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. After school, he worked alongside Dr. Robert George in small animal medicine at Gloucester Veterinary Hospital Gloucester, Virginia and also the Virginia Beach Aquarium and Marine Science Center. He completed a residency in zoological medicine (Aquatics focus) from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After completion of his residency, Tres was hired on at Audubon Nature Institute in New Orleans, Louisiana as a veterinarian until moving to SeaWorld San Diego and now SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. Dr. Clarke also is a member of the IUCN Species Survival Commission (Snake Specialist Group) and a member of the International Whaling Commission Strandings Expert Panel. He enjoys working on all creatures, especially sharks, reptiles and occasional dinosaurs.
