Humaira Agibo Badrú is a young Mozambican, born in Maputo. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Ecology and Terrestrial Biodiversity Conservation (2017) and a Postgraduate degree in Biodiversity Management and Conservation from Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique.
In 2020, she was selected for the first edition of the Pre-professional Internships of the Leadership Program for Conservation of Mozambique (PLCM), where she interned at the Foundation for the Conservation of Biodiversity – BIOFUND, within the Innovative Financing Department. She later joined the institution as a staff member and currently serves as a Project Officer.
Her professional experience includes:
- Development and management of biodiversity conservation projects in Mozambique;
- Planning, design, implementation, and management of monitoring and evaluation systems in Conservation Areas;
- Thematic map production and satellite image processing using tools such as ArcGIS, ArcMap, and QGIS;
- Preparation of reports, plans, proposals, and budgets for projects funded by bilateral and multilateral donors;
- Strong management of administrative procedures with high rigor and efficiency.
Her greatest motivation in working for conservation is linked to innovative initiatives that create a significant impact both on people’s lives and on biodiversity conservation.
