Jorge SALAVERRY

Jorge Salaverri (Puerto Lempira, Gracias a Dios. January 23, 1961).
Forestry Engineer, graduated from the National School of Forest Sciences and from the BS Forestry program at West Virginia University. A former Special Forces serviceman, he is a unique hybrid professional with expertise in the protection and management of protected areas. He has in-depth knowledge of the threats facing the Río Plátano Biosphere Reserve and the Moskitia region.

For 30 years, he has managed an adventure and nature tourism company in La Ceiba, exploring some of the most remote and pristine areas of Honduras (La Moskitia). In 2010, he was honored with the National Copán Award.
