Alexis GROSSKOPF

Biography

 

Alexis Grosskopf is the Founder and CEO of African Hub for Ocean Impact (trading as OceanHub Africa), an ocean-impact entrepreneurship support organisation focusing on strengthening the development and adoption of new sustainable ocean solutions in Africa. Alongside OceanHub Africa, Alexis is a Partner in ForSea Invest, the first African early stage ocean impact fund, and co-founded the annual Ocean Innovation Africa summit to promote innovative technologies, policies and finance to further sustainable blue growth continentally. He is an Edinburgh Ocean Leader fellow (2023), holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering, an MSc in Environmental Engineering from Imperial College London and an Impact Finance certificate from Oxford University. Former management and sustainable development consultant, he has since been working in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation for since 2012 (and since 2017 in Africa). His other leadership positions include 1000 Ocean Startups coalition, the Great Blue Wall initiative, the UN Ocean Decade task force for Africa, OECD expert for Blue Economy ODA guidelines and the AU/EU-backed Ocean Governance Strategy Group.
