Mahboobeh SHIRKHORSHIDI

Biography

Mahboobeh Shirkhorshidi is a biodiversity conservation scientist with over 15 years of international experience in research, policy, and project management with an MSc in Conservation Science from Imperial College London. She is currently a Biodiversity Conservation Officer at IUCN, leading work on the European Red List, and contributing to pollinator conservation projects. Previously, she helped shape Scotland’s 30x30 framework and the launch of Nature30 sites while at NatureScot, and also supported the planning, governance, management and monitoring of Peatland Action Programme. With a strong background in project management and data, her career spans roles with research, public and non-governmental sectors with a strong focus on linking science, policy, and community resilience in conservation.
