Pragyan Raj POKHREL

Biography

Pragyan Raj Pokhrel is an ecosystem restoration and socio-economics expert with over a decade of experience at the intersection of community-based conservation, land degradation, and sustainable forest management. At IUCN, he leads the design and implementation of complex, multi-country programmes focused on forest landscape restoration, drylands management, and ecosystem resilience. Pragyan has a proven track record managing large-scale initiatives supported by vertical climate funds and bilateral donors, and has worked across Africa, Asia, and Latin America to strengthen local institutions, enhance land-use practices, and scale nature-based solutions.
