Liam Flockhart Ford actively brings both scientific knowledge and a passion for conservation and sustainability to his work. He is the Program Coordinator of Blue Carbon Plus (BC+), a first-of-its-kind initiative launched by Conservation International and The Nature Conservancy that seeks to scale regenerative business models that integrally link sustainable production with ecosystem conservation. As a member of the program's inaugural team, Liam supports strategy development, stakeholder engagement, and project creation. Through Families In Nature and Tela Coral, he is part of a youth-led pilot study that has discovered evidence of sexually reproducing corals in Tela, Honduras, and has further field experiences conducting raptor, songbird, and sea turtle research. In college, he founded a program to reduce the waste production and energy consumption of school science laboratories and washing machines, and co-led the school's Sustainable Oceans Alliance. As a certified scuba diver and avid hiker, Liam finds purpose in nature, and leads by example to bring impactful, tangible benefits to people and nature alike.
