Nerissa CHAO

Biography

Nerissa Chao is Director of the IUCN SSC Asian Species Action Partnership (ASAP), established to conserve species on the brink of extinction in Southeast Asia. She leads initiatives that channel funding, training and collaborative opportunities towards conservationists and the often-overlooked species they protect. Nerissa also founded the ASAP Network of Women to strengthen support for women practitioners across the region. Previous to ASAP, Nerissa managed conservation field programmes in Southeast Asia, and Central and East Africa.
