Ana NUNES

I am a biologist with over 17 years of experience working on invasive alien species, mainly in freshwater ecosystems. At IUCN I work on policy support and implementation, primarily in projects related to the implementation of the European Union Regulation 1143/2014 on invasive alien species. I also contribute to national and international IAS policy efforts, including Target 6 of the Global Biodiversity Framework. I have previously worked at organisations such as the Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International (UK), the Centre for Invasion Biology (South Africa), the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (Italy), as well as the Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes (Portugal). I am an Associate Editor for the journals Aquatic Invasions and BioInvasions Records and I have acted as a reviewer for over 20 scientific journals.
